Discover the world in a way that’s adventurous, immersive, and empowering

SUMMER TEEN TRAVEL ADVENTURE

Rising 6th – Rising 9th Grade

Our Teen Travel summer program is designed for young explorers entering 6th through 9th grade who are ready to break out of their comfort zones and discover the world in a way that’s adventurous, immersive, and empowering. If a traditional day camp is too “lame” or “boring” for your child, they will surely enjoy weekly travel with overnight adventures that prepare them for more significant travel later in life.

The Ivy Country Adventures Summer Teen Travel Program consists of two-week sessions that include a combination of daily excursions to local activities and an overnight trip. This program offers a balance between “staying local” and enjoying all that Northern Virginia has to offer while also experiencing the fun and adventure of traveling overnight with peers.

As with our day camp program for the younger explorers, we provide door-to-door transportation and all meals for the teen travel participants.
In addition, Ivy Country Adventures utilizes a Private Security team consisting of experienced former federal law enforcement personnel to accompany our teen travel group every step of the way on overnight journeys, ensuring a secure and worry-free experience for both students and parents.

Traveling offers a range of positive benefits for kids, including:

  • **Independence and Confidence**: Navigating new environments helps children develop independence and confidence in their abilities to adapt and problem-solve.

  • **Social Skills**: Traveling provides opportunities to meet new people, build friendships, and develop communication and teamwork skills.

  • **Creativity and Curiosity**: Exploring new places sparks curiosity and creativity, encouraging kids to ask questions and think outside the box.

  • **Cultural Awareness**: Kids learn to appreciate cultural diversity and develop empathy as they experience traditions, customs, and histories different from their own.

  • **Adaptability and Resilience**: Travel often involves challenges and unpredictability, teaching kids to adapt to change and become more resilient in the face of obstacles

  • **Physical Activity**: Adventure travel encourages physical movement, promoting healthy habits through activities like hiking, swimming, and exploring nature.
